Pyrantel pamoate is a safe oral wormer used to treat roundworm and hookworm infections in many species of animals. Dose varies with the species and the product used. Many liquid forms taste good to animals, which makes administration easier. Multiple doses several weeks apart are often used to treat or prevent parasite infestations. Elimination of parasites must also include sanitation and prevention measures to ensure the pet does not become reinfected.
